The academic events will take place in two venues at the University of Seville. The main venue for the congress will be the Celestino Mutis building, at the Reina Mercedes Campus of the University of Seville. The welcome ceremony and the talks of the fisrt session on Monday will be held at the central headquarters of the university, located in the historic building known as "Real Fábrica de Tabacos" in Sevilla. This industrial-type building was constructed in the mid-18th century and is recognized as a cultural heritage site and historical landmark in Spain. Among other aspects, it is well-known for providing inspiration for Bizet's famous opera Carmen, a cigar girl in this tobacco factory.
